Jack Gillespie

Jack, born March 24, 1924, in Memphis, TN, died peacefully on July 21, 2011 of complications from Alzheimer's. After graduating from Christian Brothers High School in Memphis and St. Louis University, Jack received his Law Degree in 1950 and, soon thereafter, opened an insurance brokerage agency.

Seeking broader horizons and being an avid skier, Jack moved the family west and expanded Executive Underwriters into Denver, CO in 1972. He was a Life Member of The Million Dollar Round Table and active in many philanthropic endeavors including the Memphis YMCA, the University of Memphis Handball Program and the Colorado Winter Special Olympics. Jack was known for his colorful and vibrant personality and was an accomplished athlete, winning numerous handball championships in Memphis and the Mid-South. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marge; his four children Sean, Shannon and Shea of Denver, CO; Sharon Lotkin of Las Cruces, NM and five grandchildren.

A Mass in Celebration of Life will be held Monday, July 25, 2011, at 10:00 AM at Church of the Risen Christ, 3060 S. Monaco Parkway. A reception will immediately follow at the Parish Center adjacent to the church.
