Boy have things picked up in advance of the largest handball summer event that is to be held next month. The number of entries are expected to top 100. Kansas, Illinois, Arizona, Indiana (hear that Hammonds), California, Florida, Michigan, Missouri are scheduled to be represented this year.
In addition, Bob Hickman has arranged a TEACHING HANDBALL CERTIFICATION CLINIC
Jim Costigan Youth Handball and the USHA are hosting a Teaching Certification Clinic on Saturday, August 18th from 11am to 1pm at the Jim Costigan/Les Shumate 3-Wall Doubles in Boulder.
The clinic will be conducted by Gary Cruz, our USHA Player Development Director and LeaAnn Martin, USHA Vice President and an educator who has taught thousands how to play handball and hundreds how to teach it.
All attendees are invited to the picnic and barbeque after the clinic.
All players who have expressed interest in teaching handball to kids and college students should become certified. If you have committed to teaching at the fall class at Sinclair middle school, this clinic is a must. If you are interested in teaching at the Ft. Collins or Colorado Springs courts it is also a must.
The goal of Jim Costigan Youth Handball and the USHA is for every handball teacher or coach to be certified. Attending the clinic and passing a basic background check is all that is required. The Best Part. The clinic is free, free free.
If there are any questions, please contact Bob Hickman at bnlhick@aol.com or Ron Bronner@ipaper.com.
Junior 3-wall events to be held Saturday from 1-4. This also a free event. Anyone bringing a youth player may attend the BBQ free as well.
Come early and enjoy some really terrific handball. All the brackets are shaping up to be the strongest ever.
SEE YOU THERE!!!
